Make Time for Success
We all have many resources and abilities that allow us to be successful provided we use them well. One such resource is time. It is foolish to waste
such a precious commodity, but sometimes we do. Consciously or subconsciously, our values determine the emphasis we place on each activity and the amount of time we allot to it. Lack of concentration drains time of its potential. Perfectionism and procrastination soak up valuable time that could have been used more effectively. Misplaced priorities result in wasted opportunities. Unfortunately, we can’t recapture lost time.
Here is an idea which will help you manage your time effectively.
Keep a log of all your activities and the time you spend on them for a period of several days. This will help you determine how you use time and what’s really most important to you. The results might be surprising. Once you have reviewed your activities and outcomes, ask yourself the following questions and then take the appropriate actions.
-
Does the way I use my time reflect what I value most? If not, what must I change?
-
What action steps are needed to achieve my goals?
-
How can I focus my energy on what’s most important?
-
What can I do in order to utilize my time effectively and avoid being sidetracked?
-
What can I do to be more consistent in my efforts?
